Also, since there are so many options available, it is easy to fall into the trap of buying multiple books for the same topic.

Now this is a mistake you must avoid!

Just like too many cooks spoil the broth, buy multiple books for the same topic, and you are booking your ticket to failure.

The reason being, if you have multiple books for the same topic or subject, you might not recall where you read something and so the next time you go for revision, it will turn out to be a big headache. Also remember, the NEET 2026 exam syllabus is quite vast, and it is advisable not to make things more complicated. Further, the NEET 2026 exam pattern is also revised.

How to select the best books for NEET 2026

Here a few salient features that all good books have:

  1. Covers NEET 2026 syllabus – If the books don’t cover the NEET syllabus 2026, there is no point in buying them. Go to the index of the book and check out the topics. Also, read the preface to get a grasp of the target audience of the book. If it is written for the NEET entrance exam, we are good to go.
  2. Latest edition – The same book can have multiple editions. Always buy the latest edition, as it will have the current information. For instance, if there is a change in the syllabus, the new edition will reflect it. Likewise, the new edition will have fresh problem sets and include the latest question papers.
  3. Contain few to no errors – If the book is good, it will contain few to no errors. Now this is crucial when preparing for an exam like NEET. Because it will take more time to unlearn something than to learn it. Also, factually correct books will build your confidence, while the reverse is true for books riddled with errors.
  4. Written for the average joe – You are not participating in any literary competition. Nor do you have the time and patience to deal with books that use flowery and complicated vocabulary to explain simple concepts. Instead, you need books that will succinctly, but in simple language explain the concept at hand. Some books will go on and on when a few phrases will suffice. So, before you buy a book, do some test reading of some topics. It won’t be hard to identify if the book would be useful or be a pain.
  5. Well known author/ publisher – There are a number of good books for NEET preparation written by newcomers, but before you go for a completely unknown identity, you need to do some research. For instance, check the credentials of the author, what topics he has included, how is his book being received, and is there any negative feedback. If there is any negative feedback, what is it about?

How to Calculate AIBE scores using Answer Key

To calculate probable scores using the AIBE 19 Answer Key 2024, the candidate needs to follow the steps given below.

  1. Calculate the number of correct attempts – Compare your answers with those given in the AIBE 2024 answer key (the paper code must be the same). This way you can calculate the number of correct attempts.
  2. Allocate marks – Once you know how many questions you attempted correctly, next use the AIBE (19) marking scheme to score the paper. Consult the AIBE 2024 exam pattern as reference for the marking process.
  3. Calculate TOTAL score – There is no negative marking in AIBE 2024. So, you need to allocate +1 mark for each correct attempt. Tally the marks to get the total score.
  4. Check the qualifying marks: To qualify in the AIBE (19) 2024 exam, you need to score 40% marks (35% marks if you belong to SC/ST category). The qualifying marks might change (or get reduced) after the re-evaluation of the provisional answer key and question paper. For instance, if a question is dropped, the qualifying cutoff score would be less than 40 marks (or less than 35 marks for SC/ST).

How does the AIBE XIX Answer Key Look Like

This is how the draft AIBE answer key looks like:

AIBE XIX draft Answer Key page

A sample FINAL answer key is given below for reference.

AIBE XIII FINAL Answer Key page

Details Included in the AIBE Answer Key 2024

The AIBE answer key will include the following details:

  • The exam for which the answer key is released (e.g. AIBE -XIX)
  • The language for which the answer key is available (e.g. Common for all languages)
  • The paper code
  • Question Number and the corresponding Key.

In addition, the FINAL answer key of AIBE XIX will also contain the following information.

  • Details of any question withdrawn
  • Corrected answer keys

Note that corrections are highlighted (typically with yellow background).

AIBE 2024 question paper discrepancies

The BCI will also release AIBE question papers along with the answer key. The candidate can compare the questions against the corresponding answer keys.

If the candidate feels that there are some discrepancies in the answer key (s) or that a question (s) is wrong, then they challenge the particular key/question.

The AIBE 2024 Objection Window will open soon after the answer key and question paper is released. The candidate must raise objections before the last date.

  1. How to Raise Objections – To file an objection, the candidate needs to go to the AIBE exam portal and log-in to the object portal. Submit the objection, pay the relevant fee, and upload supporting documents. The fee will be reimbursed if the complaint is upheld.
  2. Meet objection-filing deadline – Objections/ challenges must be submitted within the given window.
  3. BCI to review challenges – The feedback given by candidates will be reviewed by the BCI and necessary action will be taken accordingly.
  4. Deletion/ Rejection of questions – If a question is found to be incorrect, it will be dropped or rejected. In that case, the TOTAL marks get reduced. For example, if 4 questions are dropped, then marking will be done out of 96 marks. During AIBE XIV, eight questions were dropped and the marking was done out of 92 marks.
  5. Release of FINAL answer key – BCI will release the final answer key after revising any answers. Also, if any question is deleted/ dropped it will be highlighted in the final key.
  6. Adjusting of total marks and qualifying marks – In addition to adjusting the total marks, the BCI will also adjust the qualifying marks. As a general rule, if the total mark is reduced, the qualifying cutoff also gets reduced. In the AIBE XIV instance, the qualifying mark for the General/OBC category was reduced to 37 marks (and 32 marks for SC/ST candidates).

Note that the Assam CEE 2026 exam will be conducted based on the AHSEC/NCERT syllabus.

To be able to complete the entire syllabus on time, it is prudent to start one’s exam preparation early. Like, you can start your Assam CEE exam preparation one year in advance.

This way you will have enough time to assess your progress, make changes to the preparation strategy if needed, and have enough time to cover each topic in detail.

3. Next, gather the Right Study Material

An often ignored aspect of Assam CEE 2026 exam preparation strategy is not paying enough attention to the kind or quality of study material you have.

It is because if the book combination is not right, or the books that you have chosen don’t match the desired standards, your efforts could be in vain.

So, when selecting the books to prepare for the Assam CEE 2026 exam, make sure that they meet the following yardsticks:

  • The books follow the current Assam CEE syllabus
  • Are written or published by a well known publisher (or author)
  • Contains few to no errors.
  • Concepts are explained using examples, infographics, etc.
  • There are practice question at the end each chapter or at the end of the book
  • Also, male sure that the books use simple English instead of difficult jargon that does more to impress rather than help your cause.

Assam CEE 2026 – Book Recommendation

  • NCERT Books (Class 11 & 12) – Foundation for all subjects.
  • Reference Books:
    • Physics: HC Verma, DC Pandey

Solve at least 5-10 years of Assam CEE question papers to understand the difficulty level, types of questions asked, weightage, specific questions asked, etc.

Also, solve Assam CEE sample papers to improve your problem-solving and time-management skills. When solving papers, make sure that you solve a variety of problems instead of solving the same types of questions over and over again.

Meanwhile, you can take mock tests closer to the exam to give final touches to one’s exam preparation. Use mock tests to analyze mistakes and work on weak areas.

Step 7: Time Management During the Exam

Section-wise Time Allocation:

  • Physics (40 minutes) – Focus on numerical problems first.
  • Chemistry (35 minutes) – Solve theory-based questions quickly.
