NID DAT Application Form 2026 – The National Institute of Design (NID) has STARTED the NID DAT 2026 application form filling process. Applications will be accepted online at admissions.nid.edu from September 11 to December 1, 2025 (11.59 pm or midnight).
Candidates who meet the prescribed NID DAT 2026 eligibility criteria must apply before the last date.

NID has reduced the application fee for Female (Gen, Gen-EWS, and OBC-NCL) and PwD candidates. Fee has also been revised for Overseas (Supernumerary) candidates.
To apply, first register and create an applicant account. Then log in to the applicant account to fill in personal, academic, and contact details. Also, upload documents, select a NID DAT 2026 exam center, and pay the exam fee. NID DAT 2026 application fee (open category) is INR 3,000. You can choose the program of STUDY during registration. NID-participating colleges currently offer B.Des and M.Des courses.

How to fill out the NID DAT 2026 application form
The application form for NID DAT 2026 is available online at admissions.nid.edu. If you meet the eligibility criteria for your chosen program, apply from Sept 11 to December 1, 2025.

The stepwise application form filling process is explained below.
- Online Registration – To start the application process, click on the “Registration” tab. A registration form will open, where you need to fill in the program of study, name, email ID, mobile number, and date of birth. On successful registration, an application account will be created.
- Log-in and fill out the form – Using the applicant log-in credentials, log-in to the candidate account and fill in personal, academic, and contact details.
- Select an exam city – The list of NID DAT 2026 exam cities will be given in a drop-down menu. Select your exam city.
- Upload documents – You have to next upload documents, including signature, photograph, etc., in the given format.
- Pay the application fee – Finally, pay the application fee to complete the NID DAT application form filling process.

NID DAT Application Form 2026 – Exam Centers
The candidate will have to select an exam city when filling out the form. Note that there is no option to directly select any specific exam center.
In fact, the allotment of NID DAT 2026 exam centers will be done based on the candidate’s address and the exam city opted by them. The name and address of the exam city allotted will be mentioned on the NID DAT admit card 2026.

NID DAT 2026 Application Form Correction
The window to edit the NID DAT 2026 application form will open soon after the application closes.
The candidate can edit all the particulars in the application form except the following details:
- Name of the candidate
- Date of birth
- Registered mobile number
- Registered email ID
Additional fee to be paid for category change
If you change your applied category, you must pay the applicable additional application fee.
However, no refund of excess fees will be made in the case of a category change.

NID Application Form 2026 – Compensatory time for PwD candidates
If a PwD candidate wants to avail compensatory time (20 minutes per hour) and/or request the assistance of a scribe, the candidate has to select the necessary options when filling out the NID DAT 2026 application form.
The candidate must also upload a valid Disability Certificate and/ or Unique Disability ID (UDID) issued by the Department of Empowerment of Person with Disability.
The admission cell will assess the request and supporting documents and contact the candidate via email on their registered email ID with further instructions, if necessary.
However, note that if the candidate uses the services of a scribe and/or compensatory time, but doesn’t possess the extent of disability that warrants a scribe and/or compensatory time, the candidate may be disqualified from the NID DAT 2026 admission process.
