BITSAT Exam Pattern 2026 – BITS Pilani will release the exam pattern for BITSAT 2026 in the BITSAT 2026 Information Brochure.
The exam pattern will provide insights like the test mode, subjects, types of questions asked, test duration, and marking scheme.
The BITSAT 2026 exam will be administered in a computer-based mode, will be of THREE hours duration, and include 130 multiple-choice questions. Interestingly, the candidate will also have the option to attempt additional questions within the allotted time. It is recommended that you also refer to the BITSAT 2025 syllabus to prepare for the exam.
BITSAT 2026 (Session 1) exam will be conducted in May 2026. The application form of BITSAT 2026 will open in January 2026.

Why consult BITSAT Exam Pattern 2026
The candidate is recommended to consult the exam pattern without fail to prepare for the BITSAT 2026 exam. Here is why:
- The exam pattern will provide insights into the BITSAT 2026 exam structure – mode, types of questions asked, marking scheme, sections, number of questions, etc.
- It will also contain any nuances. For instance, BITSAT allows candidates to attempt additional questions if they are able to complete the regular questions in the allotted time.
- The exam pattern tells us that the question paper will include 130 multiple-choice questions.
- Since the test duration is 180 minutes, you have around 1.38 minutes to attempt per question. This means you must not be able to answer a question, but answer it fast enough to complete the paper within the given time limit.
- Also, depending on the course opted by the candidate, the subject combination will be different.
How to Attempt the BITSAT 2026 Question Paper
When attempting the BITSAT question paper 2026, the candidate needs to follow these steps:
- To start with, reach the BITSAT exam center 2026 on time. The reporting time will be mentioned on the admit card.
- Carry the BITSAT 2026 admit card and photo ID with you.
- Latecomers will not be allowed to take the BITSAT 2026 exam.
- The candidate needs to quickly go through the pre-exam guidelines before attempting the paper.
- Attempt the easy questions first. This way you will lock sure-shot marks.
- If you are not able to solve a problem, don’t spend much time. Move to the next question.
- If you have time left after attempting remaining questions, you can attempt the questions you skipped the 1st time.
- Also, keep a close tab on the clock. If you spend all the time attempting just a handful of questions, you will be in big trouble.

Stationery required for taking the BITSAT 2026 Exam
The candidate must bring the following stationery to the BITSAT 2026 exam center:
- A pen for the purpose of rough work, signing etc.
- A scratch pad for rough work will be provided.
Calculators and logarithmic tables are not allowed in the test centers. Candidates are not allowed to bring any other
personal belongings such as mobiles.
