The GATE 2026 registration process is currently underway and some students are receiving the message that says “Your GATE application form is under scrutiny.” Understandably students who received the message are anxious to know what this message means. Importantly, the candidates want to know whether their applications have been cancelled.
IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.
The CAT 2026 application form is open till October 6 (without late fees). With late fees, applications will be accepted till October 9, 2025.

GATE 2026 Application Status
You can check the GATE 2026 application status using your enrollment ID and password.
The status can be checked online through the GOAPS 2026 portal immediately after the submission of the GATE 2026 application form. Once the application form is submitted, GATE officials will check the information entered in the application form, including personal, educational, contact, photo, signature, etc.
Note that the “application scrutiny” message does not necessarily mean that your GATE 2026 registration form has been rejected. It simply means that your application form is undergoing a verification process.
If there is any discrepancy in the application form or if it is incomplete in any respects, you might get an update.

How to Check the Status of GATE 2026 Application Form?
To check the status of your GATE application form 2026, follow these steps:
- Go to the GOAPS 2026 portal – Click Here
- In the log-in window that opens, enter your enrollment ID/ email ID and password
- On successful log-in, you can check the status of your GATE 2026 application form
- After checking the status, make the necessary corrections
- Submit the application form after making the corrections.
Do I have to pay an application fee to make corrections for GATE Application Under Scrutiny?
No, you don’t have to pay any fee to edit the GATE application form 2026 during the registration period. However, fees will be charged if the form is edited during the GATE 2026 application for correction window.
