MHT CET Exam Pattern 2026 – The MHT CET exam pattern is designed to test a candidate’s grasp of fundamental concepts from the Maharashtra State Board syllabus of Classes 11 and 12. 

Conducted online as a computer-based test, MHT CET 2026 exam is divided into two groups – PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) for engineering aspirants and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) for pharmacy and related courses. 

The question paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with no negative marking, allowing candidates to attempt all questions without penalty. Class 11 topics carry about 20% weightage, while Class 12 topics account for the remaining 80%, emphasizing the importance of board-level preparation.

The candidate must also consult the syllabus alongside the exam pattern.

The syllabus will include the subject-wise topics from which questions will be asked in the entrance exam.

As mentioned above, the Std. XI curriculum will carry 20% weightage, whereas Std. XII curriculum will be worth 80% weightage. So, you need to pay extra attention to the Std. XII curriculum.

When to START preparation for MHT CET 2026 Exam

As per the official pattern, the difficulty level of the PCM subjects will be equivalent to the JEE Main exam, whereas the Biology paper will be equivalent to the NEET exam.

So, it is highly recommended that you start your preparation early.

In an ideal situation, you must give yourself around a year to complete the exam syllabus. Note that as part of the exam preparation, you will also need to solve sample papers, take mock tests, and do extensive revision.
