What is the AIBE exam?
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a national-level exam conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI).
The AIBE is not an entrance exam. Instead, it is a certification exam. Candidates who qualify in the AIBE exam are issued the Certificate of Practice (COP) certificate. This certificate allows the candidate to practice law in India.
3-year and 5-year LLB graduates are eligible to appear in the exam, which is conducted once every year in offline mode.

What is new in the AIBE exam?
The BCI has issued the Certificate of Practice (CoP) to candidates who have qualified in AIBE XIX. The certificate can be downloaded online using the AIBESCOPE mobile application.
If the BCI makes any changes to the AIBE exam format, application process, fees, or any other aspect of the exam, the same will be updated here.

AIBE Answer Key 2025
The BCI released the AIBE 20 (XX) Answer Key 2025 on December 3, 2025. The link to download the answer keys is given above.
The AIBE 2025 answer key is released in two phases:
- Phase 1 – Provisional answer key of AIBE 2025
- Phase 2 – FINAL answer key of AIBE 2025
Candidates are also given the option to challenge the provisional answer key December 3 – 10, 2025. Using the AIBE 20 Objection Window 2025, you can submit their objections by logging into the candidate portal.
The final key will be released after reviewing the objections submitted by candidates.
How to raise objections against AIBE Answer Key 2025
If you have any objections against the AIBE XX 2025 Answer Key, follow these steps to submit an objection:
- Go to the BCI portal
- If the objection window is open, the “Objection Filing” link will be activated.
- Click on the link
- You will be redirected to the “AIBE Objection” form
- Log-in to the portal using your candidate credentials
- Next:
– Selecting your Paper Code (A, B, C, or D)
– Choose the Question Number
– Review the official answer that is automatically populated
– Enter your answer.
– Add remarks if you have any
– Attach documents supporting your objection claim

AIBE Exam Application Form 2025
The application form of AIBE (XX) is now closed.
The BCI accepted application forms for AIBE 2025 exam from September 29 to October 31, 2025. The application form was released online at allindiabarexamination.com. Only such candidates who meet AIBE 2025 eligibility criteria had to apply.
BCI released the detailed schedule for the AIBE exam 2025 with the exam notification. To register for the exam, fill in personal, academic, and contact details. Also, upload mandatory documents and pay the application fee.
The AIBE XX 2025 application fee is INR 3500 (SC, ST, and PwD candidates only need to pay INR 2500).
Certain details in the application form, including mobile number, email ID, address, contact details, etc., can’t be edited during the correction window; so be careful when filling out the form.
AIBE Exam Syllabus 2025
Candidates appearing in the AIBE 2025 exam must refer to the official syllabus to prepare for the exam.
The AIBE 2025 syllabus is divided in 19 sections, including Constitutional Law (10 questions), Cr. P. C. (Criminal Procedure Code) & (New)Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (10 questions), Evidence Act & (New) Bharatiya SakshyaAdhiniyam (8 questions), Public Interest Litigation (PIL) (4 questions), etc.
The AIBE 2025 (XX) question paper will have a total of 100 multiple-choice questions.
While the AIBE is not necessarily a very difficult exam, planning ahead and with a clear strategy will enable the candidate to complete the AIBE syllabus on time and thus qualify the exam.
AIBE Exam Pattern 2025
The candidate is no longer allowed to carry books or bare acts (with notes) inside the AIBE XX exam center.
This is because AIBE 2025 (XX) is no longer an open-book exam. However, as per the AIBE XX exam pattern, the candidate is allowed to carry bare acts without notes. The AIBE 2025 exam will be conducted in an offline mode and the test duration will be 3 hours 30 minutes. The question paper will include 100 MCQs, each carrying 1 mark.
AIBE (XX) 2025 will not have any negative marking.
Also, the exam will be available in 22 vernacular languages; you can select your language option when filling out the AIBE 2025 application form.
AIBE Admit Card 2025
BCI released the AIBE (XX) 2025 admit card on November 15, 2025. Candidates who have registered for the exam can download the admit card by following the link that given on this page.
The BCI released the following instructions for downloading the AIBE XIX (19) Admit Card 2024.
“Follow these Instructions to download the Admit Card:
Visit the AIBE-XIX website: https://aibexix.register.smartexams.in/home and log in using your registration credentials.
Click on the “ADMIT CARD”.
Click on the “View Admit Card” button to view the detailed admit card.
Click on the “Download PDF” button at the top corner to download the admit card.
Examination Timing is “10:00 AM to 1:00 PM”
Candidates should report at their respective Examination Centre by “08:30 AM”

AIBE Exam Centers 2025
AIBE 20(XX) 2025 exam will be conducted in 55 cities across India. The list of AIBE (XX) 2025 exam centers is given on the exam portal.
When filling out the AIBE 2025 application form, the candidate could only select the exam city.
The name and address of the exam city allocated to the candidate will be mentioned on the admit card.

AIBE Cut off Marks 2025
The Bar Council of India will release the category-wise AIBE (XX) 2020 cut-off at the time of declaration of results.
While the qualifying percentage of marks for the AIBE exam is released beforehand, the exact cut-off marks required to qualify in the exam depends on factors like – whether any question has been dropped, extra marks awarded, etc.
For instance, in the previous edition of the exam (AIBE 19), 7 questions were dropped, reducing the total marks to 93 (from 100). Subsequently, the cut-off marks for all the categories also got reduced.
In the open category, the cut-off marks was 42 (45% of 93).

AIBE Exam Result 2025
BCI will likely declare the results of AIBE (XX) 2025 in March 2026. The result link will be provided above. To check your results, log-in to the result portal using your roll number and password.
AIBE 2025 result will include details like the qualifying STATUS of the candidate. However, it will not include sectional or overall scores. In fact, scores of the exam will not be released even if requested.
The result will merely include the qualifying status: Pass or Fail
Such candidates who qualify in AIBE (XX) 2025 exam will be issued the Certificate of Practice (CoP).
AIBE Exam Passing Percentage
The passing percentage is fixed at 45% for GEN/OBC Candidates and at 40% for SC/ST and Disabled Candidates.
AIBE Certificate of Practice
Any law graduate who aspires to practice in a court of law in India must obtain the Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is issued by the Bar Council of India.
Without the CoP, you can’t practice law.
The CoP is issued to candidates to qualify the AIBE exam. You can take the AIBE exam as many times you may need.
Once you qualify the AIBE exam, the certificate will be dispatched to the State Bar Council. So, it is mandatory that you enroll with a State Bar Council. However, if you don’t enroll with a state bar council, your result will be withheld until you submit the enrollment letter to the BCI.

AIBE 2025 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is AIBE an open-book exam?
No, AIBE is no longer an open-book exam. However, until 2021, it was conducted as a open-book exam. Currently, AIBE is conducted as a closed-booked exam, meaning candidates are not allowed to carry books and study materials inside the exam hall.
Also, in the present format, the candidate can carry Bare Acts without notes and comments.
The changes in the exam pattern was done to ensure the candidate has a better understanding of legal concepts rather than focusing on rote learning and depending on books.
What is the duration of the AIBE exam?
The AIBE (XX) 2025 exam was conducted from 1 pm – 4 pm (3 hours). The question paper included 100 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each.
Will my AIBE results be withheld if I don’t submit the Enrolment Certificate?
While the enrollment certificate is not a prerequisite for applying to and appearing in the AIBE exam, the candidate must get themselves enrolled to a State Bar Council before AIBE results are declared.
This is because results of such candidates who don’t get enrolled will be withheld, and the results will be only be released after the candidate uploads the enrolment letter.
