How to Calculate AIBE scores using Answer Key
To calculate probable scores using the AIBE 19 Answer Key 2024, the candidate needs to follow the steps given below.
- Calculate the number of correct attempts – Compare your answers with those given in the AIBE 2024 answer key (the paper code must be the same). This way you can calculate the number of correct attempts.
- Allocate marks – Once you know how many questions you attempted correctly, next use the AIBE (19) marking scheme to score the paper. Consult the AIBE 2024 exam pattern as reference for the marking process.
- Calculate TOTAL score – There is no negative marking in AIBE 2024. So, you need to allocate +1 mark for each correct attempt. Tally the marks to get the total score.
- Check the qualifying marks: To qualify in the AIBE (19) 2024 exam, you need to score 40% marks (35% marks if you belong to SC/ST category). The qualifying marks might change (or get reduced) after the re-evaluation of the provisional answer key and question paper. For instance, if a question is dropped, the qualifying cutoff score would be less than 40 marks (or less than 35 marks for SC/ST).

AIBE 2024 question paper discrepancies
The BCI will also release AIBE question papers along with the answer key. The candidate can compare the questions against the corresponding answer keys.
If the candidate feels that there are some discrepancies in the answer key (s) or that a question (s) is wrong, then they challenge the particular key/question.
The AIBE 2024 Objection Window will open soon after the answer key and question paper is released. The candidate must raise objections before the last date.
- How to Raise Objections – To file an objection, the candidate needs to go to the AIBE exam portal and log-in to the object portal. Submit the objection, pay the relevant fee, and upload supporting documents. The fee will be reimbursed if the complaint is upheld.
- Meet objection-filing deadline – Objections/ challenges must be submitted within the given window.
- BCI to review challenges – The feedback given by candidates will be reviewed by the BCI and necessary action will be taken accordingly.
- Deletion/ Rejection of questions – If a question is found to be incorrect, it will be dropped or rejected. In that case, the TOTAL marks get reduced. For example, if 4 questions are dropped, then marking will be done out of 96 marks. During AIBE XIV, eight questions were dropped and the marking was done out of 92 marks.
- Release of FINAL answer key – BCI will release the final answer key after revising any answers. Also, if any question is deleted/ dropped it will be highlighted in the final key.
- Adjusting of total marks and qualifying marks – In addition to adjusting the total marks, the BCI will also adjust the qualifying marks. As a general rule, if the total mark is reduced, the qualifying cutoff also gets reduced. In the AIBE XIV instance, the qualifying mark for the General/OBC category was reduced to 37 marks (and 32 marks for SC/ST candidates).
