AIBE (XX) 2025 – How to Prepare for the exam
The AIBE exam will test a law graduate’s knowledge of fundamental legal subjects and ability to practice in a court of law.
To ace the exam you will need smart planning and consistent revision.
Begin by understanding the exam structure. While AIBE was previously an open-book exam, it currently only allows candidates to carry Bare Acts (uncommented statutory laws).
The offline-based exam will have 100 multiple-choice questions covering constitutional law, criminal law, IPC, CPC, CrPC, Evidence Act, professional ethics, recent judgments, etc.
Start by collecting the official syllabus and previous years’ question papers to identify recurring topics. Focus especially on frequently tested sections such as fundamental rights, landmark judgments, and procedural codes.
Prepare short notes or flowcharts for complex topics like CPC, CrPC, and Evidence Act to save time. Practice solving past AIBE question papers within the time limit to build speed and accuracy. Since negative marking does not apply, attempt all questions. Develop a strategy to attempt easier sections first, ensuring maximum scoring.
Alongside legal subjects, revise professional ethics and Bar Council rules thoroughly, as they carry significant weight. Keep updated with recent amendments and important Supreme Court rulings.
In the final week, revise key provisions daily instead of cramming. On exam day, carry well-organized bare acts without notes, stay calm, and manage time wisely. Consistent practice, clear organization, and effective referencing are the keys to cracking AIBE confidently.
