AILET Exam 2026 – NLU Delhi released the AILET 2026 merit list (provisional) for Round I on January 8, 2026. The merit lists have been released for both the BA LLB and LLM programs. The merit lists have been released online at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.

Candidates who are allotted seats in Round I must pay the Provisional Admission Confirmation Fee (INR 50,000) by January 14 (11 am). Seat allotment for Round II will be announced on January 21, 2026.
AILET 2026 exam results were declared on December 18, 2025.
The AILET 2026 merit ranks were used to shortlist candidates for the counseling and seat-allotment process. Online registrations for AILIET 2026 counseling was conducted from December 19-27, 2025. NTA has also released the category-wise seat matrix for BA LLB and LLM programs.
AILET 2026 master question paper booklet and answer keys were released on December 14. The answer key contains the official keys (or answers) to questions asked in the exam. The window to submit objections against AILET 2026 answer key was open till December 16, 2025 (12 noon).
The AILET 2026 exam was conducted on December 14, 2025 ( 2 pm – 4 pm).

AILET Exam Counseling 2026
NLU Delhi released the AILET 2026 seat allotment for Round I on January 8, 2026. To confirm their seats, the candidate must pay a sum of INR 50,000 by January 14 (11 am). If the pay is not paid within given deadline, the allotment will be cancelled and the vacated seat will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
Seat allotment for Round II will be declared on January 21, 2026.
The counseling registration process of AILET 2026 for the BA LLB and LLM courses was held from December 19 to 27, 2025.
Candidates who are shortlisted for counseling received an email/SMS on their registered email ID/ mobile number for AILET 2026 inviting them for online counselling registration. In case the of candidates who could not secure admission at NLU Delhi, the university will refund the counselling fee.
The university will issue a category-wise provisional merit list only for candidates complete the online counselling registration and pay the required fee within the stipulated time.
Online Counselling Registration Fee:
- General – Rs.30,000.00
- ST/SC/OBC/EWS/PwD categories – Rs.20,000.00
Declaration of Merit List:
- Round 1 – January 8, 2026 (6 pm)

AILET Exam Result 2026
NLU Delhi declared the results of the AILET 2026 exam on December 18, 2025. The results have been released online at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. To check your results, you need to log-in to the result portal using your candidate credentials.
The AILET 2026 scorecard will carry details like the candidate’s name, roll number, category, program applied for admission, and the merit rank. The merit rank/ scores will be used to shortlist candidates for AILET 2026 counseling.
AILET 2026 Merit List – Tie-breaker
If two or more candidates get the same marks in AILET 2026, their merit will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the Logical Reasoning section of AILET 2026.
If the merit is still the same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If still there is no change in merit, then computerized draw of lots will be taken into consideration.
AILET Exam Admit Card 2026
The admit card for the AILET 2025 was released on November 26, 2025. A mandatory document for appearing in the exam, the admit card will carry important details like the date and time of the exam, roll number, exam center name and address, reporting time, and exam-day guidelines.
On the day of the exam, you must bring the AILET 2026 admit card and a valid photo ID proof.
How to download the AILET 2026 admit card
- Go to the AILET 2026 exam portal or Click on the admit card download link given above
- Enter your log-in credentials
- On successful log-in, you can download the admit card.
Note that admit cards will be released to all candidates who successfully complete the AILET registration process.
Difficulty in downloading AILET 2026 admit card
If you face issues when downloading the admit card, check that you are using the correct credentials, the internet is properly connected, etc. In some cases, the server may be facing technical issues, in that case, you must wait until the issue is resolved.
Another point is don’t wait until the dying hours to download the admit card. Or else if there is any anomaly with the admit card, you won’t enough time to get it resolved.
AILET Exam Application Form 2026
NLU Delhi opened the AILET 2026 application form is now closed (it was open from August 7 to November 13, 2025). The application had to be filled out online at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.
Applications submitted in offline mode will not be accepted.
How to apply for AILET Exam 2026
- Online Registration – Go to the AILET 2026 exam portal – nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. Click on the “Click here to Register for AILET 2026” option. Enter your name, email ID, applicant type (Indian or Foreign Nationals/OCI/ PIO). On successful registration, log-in credentials will be sent to your registered email ID.
- Log-in to the candidate account – Using the credentials, you can log-in to the account. You will be prompted to select and confirm a password.
- Fill in the form – The candidate has to next proceed to fill in academic, personal, and academic credentials. Also, select THREE exam cities in the order of preference.
- Uploading of documents – The documents must be uploaded as per the format and specifications prescribed.
- Payment of application fee – Finally, pay the AILET 2026 application fee to complete the application process.

AILET Exam 2026 – Eligibility Criteria
Candidates appearing in the AILET exam 2026 must ensure that they meet the program-specific eligibility criteria.
Any candidate who doesn’t meet the prescribed criteria can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process. Note that exam officials will verify the original documents at the time of AILET 2026 counseling.

AILET Exam 2026 – Test Pattern and Syllabus
The syllabus and exam pattern of the AILET exam for the UG program is outlined below.
- The AILET 2026 for UG program will have three (3) sections of 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks in total.
- The THREE sections will be: Section A: English Language (50 questions; 50 marks). Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions; 30 marks). Section C: Logical Reasoning (70 questions; 70 marks).
- Test duration – 120 minutes
- Legal principles may be used in the logical reasoning section to test logical aptitude but the examination will not require any kind of legal knowledge or technical understanding.
- Negative marking– There is negative marking in AILET 2026. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

AILET Exam Answer Key 2026
NLU Delhi will release TWO answer keys:
- Draft Answer Key – December 14, 2025
- FINAL answer key – December 18, 2025
The draft answer key was released within a few days of the AILET exam. The candidate can use the keys (or answers) given in the AILET 2026 answer key to calculate probable scores and assess their chances of admission.
A window will also be provided for candidates to challenge the draft AILET answer key.
The final answer key of AILET 2026 will be prepared by considering the feedback given by candidates. Also, note that no further challenges will be considered. This means, the keys given in the final key will be officially recognized as the correct answers to questions asked in the exam.
