The consortium had originally released CLAT 2025 (UG) results on December 7.
The Supreme Court of India, on May 7, had directed the consortium to release revised CLAT 2025 results. The court pronounced the judgement after it found errors in the CLAT 2025 question paper. The SC also overruled some parts of the Delhi High Court’s earlier decision. The apex court instructed the consortium to award marks for a few incorrectly framed questions, while directing a few other questions to be deleted.
The SC, on April 30, had stayed the Delhi High Court’s directive to the NLU Consortium to release a revised CLAT UG result 2025.
The Delhi High Court, on April 23, had directed NLU Consortium to revise the marksheet and republish and renotify final selected candidates in 4 weeks. NLU Consortium also released a notification dated April 24, stating that it will follow the decision of the Delhi High Court.
Consortium of NLUs first declared the results of CLAT 2025 on December 7, 2025. However, a series of cases were filed in various courts challenging the conduct of the CLAT 2025 exam, result, and CLAT 2025 answer key.
The CLAT 2025 exam was conducted on December 1, 2025.
The Delhi High Court had also advised the consortium to “have better paper setters in the future” so that the current state of affairs could be avoided.

What if CLAT 2025 result is revised?
There is a big chance that the CLAT 2025 results will be revised. If that happens, it is going to affect a lot of candidates.
To begin with, if the results are revised, the total marks (and therefore merit ranks) of a large chunk of candidates are going to change. If the rank improves, it is of course, well and good.
But the trouble will START when candidates drop in the rankings. It will be even more painful if the drop is substantial.
After all, one candidate can only improve in rankings at the expense of some other candidate. So, the candidate who falls in the rankings will feel like they have been short-changed.
It is a bad situation when the CLAT 2025 results are now at the mercy of our courts. We can only hope that things will get better hereon.
But the NLU Consortium really needs to up its game and gain the confidence of the student community so that the CLAT exam regains its glory.
