AIBE 2023 registration closes on November 10; apply here

The registration process is currently open online at – bci.register.smartexams.in/home. Candidates who have passed a 3 or 5-year LLB degree program can apply.

The Bar Council of India (BCI) will close the application form for AIBE XVIII (18) on November 10, 2023 (note that the application form was re-opened on October 18, 2023). The candidate will be able to pay the application fee up to November 11, 2023. The direct link to apply for the exam is given below. The application form may be filled out by candidates who meet the prescribed AIBE 2023 eligibility criteria.

The application fee for the AIBE exam is INR 3000 (for all candidates). 

The candidate will be able to edit the AIBE application up to November 12, 2023.

Meanwhile, the AIBE 2023 exam will be conducted on December 3, 2023. The mode of the exam will be offline. Note that AIBE is no longer an open-book exam. Consequently, the candidate is not allowed to carry study material, notebooks, etc.

What is the AIBE exam?

The All India Bar Examination or AIBE is a national-level exam conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) for law graduates. Candidates who qualify in the exam are issued the Certificate of Practice (CoP) by the BCI.

The certificate gives the qualifier the right to practice in a court of law in India.

Candidates who qualify in the AIBE exam are issued COP certificates that allow candidates to practice law in a court of law in India. Without the COP certificate, one cannot practice law in Indian courts.  AIBE is conducted once a year. The Bar Council of India (BCI) has now announced the new AIBE Exam Centre 2023.  The BCI has revised the whole AIBE Examination 2023 schedule one more time.
