Dibrugarh University Official Website

The institute website – dibru.ac.in – is not very well organized and doesn’t have all the important information in an easily navigable place.

For instance,

  • The admissions page should be on the homepage so that candidates can easily get the required information.
  • Conflicting information – In some cases, conflicting information is given. For instance, the DUIET portal says each of the B.Tech branches has an intake of 60 seats, while the Department of Mechanical Engineering page says the ME program has an intake of 72 seats for the B.Tech program.

Check images below for misleading information on the portal:

What is the purpose of an admission portal?

A good admission portal can help the candidate in many ways. Here are some of the utility of an admission portal.

  • The admission portal will have a bulletin of information or admission prospectus. The prospectus will outline the program-wise admission process, including updates on whether the candidate needs to appear in any entrance exam, eligibility criteria, seat matrix (with reservation policy), etc.
  • It will also have registration links (if application has STARTED)
  • Press releases.
  • Admission notifications
  • Scholarship information, etc.
  • Admission Help Desk to offer help to candidates in the admission process.

Having the admission information in one place will make it easier for candidates to digest the relevant information. Further, it will stop many students from getting information from unreliable third-party sources.

The Delhi University admission portal can be a model admission page for Dibrugarh University. It can immensely help candidates learn about the step-wise admission process, but also about the university, program they are opting for, admission requirements, etc.
