JEE Mains 2026 – NTA closed the JEE Main 2026 application forms on Nov 27 (9 pm); application fee was accepted till Nov. 27 (11.50 pm). JEE Main 2026 admit card will be issued (3 days prior to the exam date) to all successfully registered candidates.
The JEE Main 2026 correction window will be available from December 1-2 (11.50 pm).
NTA will not allow candidates to use virtual calculators during the exam (it had earlier wrongly notified candidates can use calculators during JEE Main 2026 exam). Download the revised JEE Main 2026 Information Bulletin (LINK given below).
JEE Main 2026 exam (January session) will be conducted between January 21 and 30, 2026.
JEE Main exam is conducted in a TWO sessions (January & April); you can appear in any or both the sessions. Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) will be conducted in an online mode, include 60 MCQs and 15 Numerical Value questions from PCM subjects. Test duration is 3 hours.

JEE Main 2025 – What’s new?
JEE Main 2026 exam (like in the previous editions) will not have any virtual calculators. NTA has released a clarification saying no calculators will be allowed during the exam, and has also released a revised JEE Main 2026 Information Bulletin.
NTA has made NO changes to the exam pattern for JEE Main 2026 exam (the pattern was last revised for JEE Main 2025). As per the current pattern, Section B will include five questions per section; also all five questions are mandatory.
Section B of JEE Main 2026 (Paper 1) will not have any optional questions. The section will include 5 mandatory questions. Paper 2A and 2B don’t have any optional questions in the Mathematics section. The JEE Main has two papers – Paper 1 is for admission to B.E/B.Tech courses, while Paper 2 is for admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses. Part 1 is conducted in a “Computer Based Test (CBT)” mode. Part B will also be conducted in a CBT mode, except for the Drawing Test in B.Arch section, which will be conducted offline.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria

JEE Main Best Books 2026
Candidates preparing for the JEE Main exam must only use good and reliable study material. For instance, the study material must be as per the official syllabus, explain the concepts in easy to understand language, contain few to no errors, use infographics and explain concepts, especially the difficult ones. Typically, it is a safe bet to buy or refer to books recommended by experts and JEE Main toppers.
If you use good books to prepare for JEE Main 2026, it will make your task easier and learning fun. On the other hand, if the JEE Main exam preparation books are substandard, you might not get the desired results. For instance, if you end up learning a concept incorrectly, you might have to put double the effort to unlearn it.

JEE Main Exam Admit Card 2026
NTA will release the admit cards of JEE Main 2026 3-days before the exam date.
Admit cards will be issued to all candidates successfully register for the exam.
The direct link to download the admit card will be provided here. Download the admit card using your application no. and DOB/ password to download the admit card.
The JEE Main admit card will carry details like roll number, exam date and timings, name and address of the JEE Main 2025 exam center, exam-center reporting time, and exam-day guidelines.
JEE Main City Intimation Slip 2026
NTA will release the city intimation slip for JEE Main 2025 (Session 2) before the admit card. It can be downloaded at jeemain.nta.nic.in using your application number and password.
The JEE Main city intimation slip 2026 carries information like – Exam city, program applied for, application no., candidate’s name, DOB, category, father’s name, PwD status, date of exam, and medium of question paper.
The city slip is not the JEE Main 2026 admit card. It is merely an advance notification for the allotment of center city. The admit card is issued later.
JEE Main Answer Key 2026
NTA will release JEE Main answer key online in the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in. The link to download the JEE Mains answer key 2026 will be provided here. The answer keys for JEE Main 2026 (Session 1) will be released in January 2026. Note that the answer keys are released within a few days of the exam.
The provisional answer key will be released first. The candidate can also challenge the provisional key, and based on the feedback, NTA will release the FINAL answer key of JEE Main 2026. There will be no provision to challenge the final key.
Using the keys (or answers) included in the JEE Main answer key, you can calculate probable scores, and thus assess your chances of admission. You may refer to the JoSAA cut-off for the institute-wise opening and closing ranks.
JEE Main Result 2026
The National Test Agency will declare the JEE Main 2026 results (Session 1) on February 12, 2026. The direct link to check the results will be provided here.
Results can be checked online at jeemain.nta.nic.in or ntaresults.nic.in.
How to check NTA JEE Main Result 2026
To check results for the JEE Main 2025 exam, follow these steps:
- Click on the result link
- In the result window that opens, enter your application number and date of birth
- On successful log-in, JEE Main result would be displayed on the screen
- Download and take a printout of the result.

JEE Main 2025 Toppers
The JEE Main 2025 Topper List is now OUT for both Session 1 and Session 2. The Topper List for Session 1 on February 11, while the Topper List for Session 2 was released on April 18, 2025. The lists were released on the NTA portal

JEE Main Counseling 2026
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct centralized JoSAA 2026 counseling for JEE Main 2026 qualified candidates.
Candidates who are allotted seats must report online and submit willingness, upload documents, and make fee payment by the given deadline.
The registration for JoSAA counseling will be conducted in June 2026.
The JoSAA counseling is conducted for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs.
As part of the JoSAA counseling registration process, candidates need to participate in a choice-filling process. JoSAA counseling will have around FIVE seat-allotment rounds.
If there are any vacant seats left after the completion of JoSAA counseling, such seats will be filled through CSAB counseling.
