NEET 2025 Exam-day Guidelines – NTA will conduct the NEET 2025 exam on May 4, 2025 (2 – 5 pm). The entry gates will be closed at 1.30 pm, so ensure that you reach the NEET 2025 exam center before that. Also, in case of candidates wearing customary dresses, the last reporting time is 12.30 pm. Leave home well in advance taking into consideration various factors such as traffic, location of the Centre and weather conditions, etc.

To take the exam, you will need the NEET 2025 admit card, a photo ID, two passport-size photographs, PWD certificate, etc.

NEET 2025 – General Guidelines for the Exam

The general guidelines for NEET 2025 are outlined below.

  • Reporting Time – The candidate must report to the exam latest by 1.30 pm. Those wearing customary dresses must report latest by 12:30 pm.
  • Take your seats immediately – Candidates must take their seats immediately after the opening of the NEET 2025 exam hall. 
  • If you don’t report on time, you may also miss some of the important instructions shared by the invigilator
  • How to display the admit card – You must show, on-demand, the Admit Card downloaded/ printed from the NTA website for admission in the examination room/ hall. Exam officials will verify the identity of candidates and can take steps to verify and confirm the identity credentials. Candidates who do not possess valid Admit Cards and authorized Photo IDs will not be allowed to take the exam.
  • How to find your seat inside the exam center –  A seat indicating the Roll Number will be allotted to each candidate. You must find and sit in your allocated seat only. If a candidate changes their seats, he or she will be disqualified and no plea will be entertained.
  • Assistance during the exam – If you face any issues during the exam, you may approach the Invigilator in the room for any first aid emergency, or any other information during the course of the  examination.
  • PwD candidates must also bring a PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
  • If candidates go on a bio-break/ toilet break, they have to undergo a mandatory frisking and Biometric attendance each time.

NEET Exam Guidelines 2025 – List of Barred Items

The candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering NEET 2025 exam centre with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors. 

The following items are barred inside the exam center.

  • Any item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc. 
  • Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, pager, Health Band, etc. 
  • Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, etc. 
  • Any Watch/Wristwatch, Bracelet, Camera, etc. 
  • Any ornaments/metallic items. 
  • Any food items opened or packed, water bottle, etc. 
  • Any other item which could be used for unfair means, by hiding communication devices like a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, etc 

NEET Exam Guidelines 2025 – Dress Code

The candidates must follow the following dress code while appearing for NEET (UG) – 2025:

  • Heavy clothes and/or long sleeves are not permitted. However, in case, candidates come in cultural/ customary dress at the NEET 2025 exam centre, they must report at least an hour before the last reporting time i.e. 12.30 pm so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination. 
  • Slippers, sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are not permitted
  • In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken before the Admit Cards are issued

NEET Exam Guidelines 2025 – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will NEET 2025 exam officials make arrangements for a baggage counter?

NEET officials will not have any baggage counters. Also, exam officials will not take responsibility for any items damaged or lost.
So, the candidate mustn’t bring unnecessary, especially cumbersome or expensive, items to the exam center.
Bring only the items necessary for taking the NEET 2025 exam.

What are NEET 2025 exam timings?

The NEET 2025 exam will be conducted on May 4, 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (Indian Standard Time).
