UCEED 2025 provisional seat allocation?

The offer of admission made to candidates during the online seat allocation process is provisional and will be confirmed by the admitting institutes only after the requisite fees are paid, the documents are duly verified, and any remaining formalities are completed.

Once the counselling is closed, the entire process of BDes admissions through UCEED is over and shifting from one institute to another is NOT possible.

Rules governing UCEED 2025 Seat Allotment

The following rules laid down by IIT Bombay will govern the UCEED 2025 seat allotment process.

  • If the selected candidates DO NOT remit the seat acceptance fee before the deadline or DECLINE the admission, their application will stand CANCELLED.

They will NOT be considered for the subsequent round of seat allotment.

These vacant seats will be offered to other eligible candidates to be filled up during the subsequent rounds (if any) of seat allotment.

  • If applicants are allotted their FIRST choice of institute, they can either ACCEPT (‘freeze’) the offer or DECLINE it. If they choose to DECLINE the offer, they will NOT be considered for subsequent rounds, and their current seat allocation shall be CANCELLED. This seat will be filled during the subsequent rounds (if any) of Allotment.
  • Suppose applicants are allotted their SECOND/THIRD/FOURTH/FIFTH choice of institute. In that case, they can opt to either ACCEPT (‘freeze’) the choice or ACCEPT WITH THE OPTION TO BE CONSIDERED FOR UPWARD MOVEMENT (‘float’) choice for subsequent rounds (if any) of the joint seat allocation.

If the candidates choose the ‘freeze’ option, it means they have ACCEPTED the offer and do not wish to participate in further rounds of seat allocation. Such candidates will NOT be considered in subsequent round(s) of seat allocation.

If the candidates choose ‘float’ option, it means they have ACCEPTED the offer and have indicated that, if admission to an institute of their higher preference is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted institute. Such candidates will be considered in subsequent round(s) of seat allocation — For candidates who choose the ‘float’ option, allocation of a seat in an institute of their higher preference in a subsequent round would AUTOMATICALLY result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by them in the earlier round.

  • In cases of ACCEPT/FLOAT/FREEZE, the candidates must pay the complete amount of the seat acceptance fee mentioned in the provisional seat allotment letter. Failure to make the payment will result in the cancellation of their allotted seat, and they will not be considered in any further rounds (if any) of seat allocation.
  • Candidates offered seats have to remit the seat acceptance fee only ONCE. Thus, candidates allotted another seat (because they chose the ‘float’ option) need not pay the seat acceptance fee again.
  • For candidates who accept the offered seat, the seat acceptance fee will be adjusted against the institute fees of the admitting institute at the time of joining. For candidates who decline the offered seat after remitting the seat acceptance fee, the refund of the seat acceptance fee will be governed by the policies of the admitting institute.
  • To avoid any last-minute unforeseen transaction issues, candidates are advised to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee for a round well before the end time/date of the corresponding round.
  • Withdrawal of seat and refunds – All candidates, who will pay the Seat Acceptance Fee in rounds I and II, can withdraw till the round-II withdrawal end date for claiming the refund. Withdrawals can be done only during the prescribed withdrawal schedules. How difficult is the CUET (UG) 2025 Exam?

The difficulty level of the CUET (UG) 2025 exam is considered to be easy to moderate.

But that being said, the answer to this question may depend on different factors:

  • The score or merit rank you want to achieve
  • The college you want to get admission to
  • Your category.

Here is why,

CUET (UG) exam is attempted by around 14 lakh candidates. So, you need to secure a good enough rank to get into one of the top institutes.

Take for example, if you want to get admission to a central university, say Delhi University, the competition is going to be immense. So, unless you have a very good rank, you have practically no chance of admission.

However, if you are seeking admission to a low-ranked institute, you have a chance to get admission even with a low score.
What this means is the difficulty level of CUET (UG) 2025 is also directly proportional to your goals. If you are seeking admission to a top institute, you need to prepare thinking the competition is fierce. On the other hand, if you are happy with getting admission to any institute, well then, the CUET (UG) exam is easy.
