Bouncers in exam centers! SSC exam comes under scanner as protests rage

The SSC Selection Post Phase 13 recruitment exam has got mired in a major controversy over the conduct of the exam and allotment of exam centers. Protests have erupted all across the country, with “Delhi Chalo” cry becoming a rallying point as students demand accountability and reform in the examination process.

The SSC Selection exam was slated to conclude on August 1; it started on July 24, 2025.

Students alleged that there were a number of issues faced by candidates during the exam, like computer crash, unresponsive systems, biometric verification failure, allotment of incorrect and far-flung exam centers, etc.

Many candidates claim that they came to know about the cancellation of exams after travelling as far as 500 kms from their homes. Then there are instances where candidates were allotted exam centers where the ground floor has been used as a cattle-shed.

But the most outrageous claim is the use of bouncers at exam halls to ensure students aren’t able to raise their voice against such mismanagement. In fact, if the use of bouncers is true, it will mark an outrageous affront to the education and examination system in the county.

It is important that the central government takes immediate cognizance of the situation and tries to find a working and permanent solution.

Teachers get into the Act

The emerging situation has also alarmed the teaching community who have now joined the cause of the students demanding answers and reforms to the existing system.

There are claims of blacklisted agencies being given the task of administering the exam.

Teachers were also concerned that the there were so many technical glitches during the exam, that admit cards were not released even two days before the exam, and then making students travel to far-flung regions, only to cancel the exams at the last minute.
